Edward Turns
Edward writes “I was born in Sunderland, and have lived in the area all my life, until I met my present wife and moved to Newcastle. I love to travel and get much inspiration for my paintings from my holidays abroad.
I have always had a keen interest in art, studying it at school. I work mainly in watercolour and pen and ink. I like to paint a variety of subjects, my favourites being sailing ship, rocks and animals, and have recently begun exploring drawing in white ink on a black background.
I have exhibited for a number of years, mainly with Chester-Le-Street Art Group where I was a member for over 20 years, until recently when I joined the Knightsbridge Art Club in Gosforth, Newcastle, where I am currently Exhibition Secretary. I regularly exhibit with the club, and have sold several paintings in them. In 2016 I had an exhibition in Newcastle City Library, where I sold a number of paintings. I also organise a small group which gets together fortnightly at my local pub.”
